Museum Opening Hours
Our opening hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 10am until 4pm. Last admissions are at 3.30pm.
Ticket Prices
Adults – £10.00
Children under 16 – Free with paying adult
Carers, Benefactors and Friends of the Museum as well as those with an active Art Fund or Museums Association membership receive free admission.
Friends of the Wilson receive a £1 reduction in ticket price, on presentation of a membership card.

Your Visit
Visits to Holst Victorian House are self-guided, unless you’re joining a special guided tour. We’ll provide you with a special Room Guide to take round with you, or you can simply choose to absorb the atmosphere! Our knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to help if needed.
Visits usually last between 1 and 1.5 hours, although you’re welcome to stay as long as you like.

**Please note: there are ‘brown signs’ in various locations in Cheltenham which still show our old name – Holst Birthplace Museum.
Walking – You’ll find us on Clarence Road opposite the green gates to Pittville Park. From Cheltenham town centre (High Street) walk along Winchcombe Street until you reach Clarence Road, and turn left.
By bus – Bus routes A, N, D, 94, 99, 608 all pass near the museum. For more on local bus services see http://www.easytraveling.org.uk/gcc/
By train – The closest train station is Cheltenham Spa
From the station:
Bus: Approx 15 mins. You can get Stagecoach Bus D towards Bishops Cleeve – alight at Holy Trinity Church, which is a one minute walk from the Museum.
Walk or cycle: Approx 25 mins. You can follow the Honeybourne line cycle and footpath into the centre of Cheltenham.
By car – Holst Victorian House does not have a dedicated carpark. You may be able to park for up to four hours on some of the surrounding residential streets including Pittville Lawn and Albert Road.
The nearest car park is the NCP Portland Street car park (GL50 4DW). Try to park at the northern end furthest away from the town centre. Turn right at the traffic lights into Clarence Road and you will see the Museum.
Please be mindful that the house has 4 floors and no lift, and there are 5 steps up to the front door. Seating is available for visitors on every level.
We have a modern outside toilet, with baby changing facilities.
We’re happy to store any buggies, coats or bags while you look around.
The Museum doesn’t have catering facilities but there are a range of cafes and restaurants a short walk away.
We’re happy to make recommendations and point you in the right direction!
You’ll find our shop in the Old Dining Room. We stock a range of books, DVDs, CDs and sheet music relating to Gustav Holst, as well as traditional toys, handmade items and local honey.
You’re very welcome to pop in to browse the shop without paying entrance to the Museum.
