Holst Victorian House
How did a poem by Christina Rossetti become one of our most popular carols?
Join some of our team in the House for an atmospheric and festive talk/recital to find out.
- Hilary Simpson (Chair of Trustees) will discuss Christina Rossetti’s poem in its Victorian literary context.
- Laura Kinnear (Curator) will talk about Holst’s setting of the poem and its Gloucestershire connections.
- Finally, John Wright (Trustee and accomplished pianist) will perform the carol on Holst’s piano and invite you to join in singing it.
