Holst Victorian House hosts a popular monthly discussion of Nineteenth Century Literature.  This month’s book we are reading a selection from The Oxford Book of Victorian Ghost Stories.

A book group with a vintage twist! Revisit old favourites and discover forgotten classics in this monthly meet-up. Led by curator Laura Kinnear, the session will take place in the Victorian kitchen with plenty of tea, coffee and cake, as well as a coal-fire in the winter months.

We will be discussing the following stories:
The Old Nurse’s Story – Elizabeth Gaskell
The Romance of Certain Clothes – Henry James
Miss Jeromette and the Clergyman – Wilkie Collins
The Open Door – Charlotte Riddell
Canon Alberic’s Scrapbook – M.R. James
